The plans differ considerably. The most expensive of the three plans is significantly faster. It also has much more storage space, but this won't matter much for most people: an average website barely reaches a size of 1 GB, even with effort.

For example, Business Web Hosting has 4 times more allocated resources than Single Web Hosting. There are also differences in the disk space allocated to you. Single Webhosting provides only 30 GB, which is 7 times less than what Business Webhosting offers. Keep in mind, however, that most websites don't require more than a few gigabytes of disk space.

Business Web Hosting also includes daily backups. For business websites, this is an absolute must-have.

This is a very solid plan where you can host up to 3 websites. The price difference compared to their next tier (which costs €7.99 per month after renewal) is substantial. This makes it absolutely worth considering for certain site projects, whereas with Hostinger, for example, you can almost always skip their cheapest plan due to the minimal price difference with their second cheapest plan.

Overview of Myin.host's Cheapest Packages

The plans differ considerably from each other when it comes to allocated resources. Unlike many other hosting providers, Mijn.host clearly tells you how many CPU cores and RAM are included in each plan's server. The most affordable plan (.starter) has 2 CPU cores and 2 GB of RAM. The most expensive plan (.ultimate) offers eight times as much with 16 CPU cores and 16 GB of RAM.

Additionally, there are significant differences in terms of storage space and available mailboxes.

As you can see, the GoGeek plan can no longer be considered inexpensive. With GoGeek, you're getting a serious plan that can handle up to 400,000 monthly visitors, offers an unlimited number of websites, utilizes the best resources, and provides access to SiteGround's top support staff.

Looking at StartUp and GrowBig, the main differences are the number of sites per plan, the volume of visitors you can accommodate, improved caching, and on-demand backups.

There are 3 hosting companies in the world that WordPress officially recommends. SiteGround is one of them. They run on the Google Cloud platform, have fully optimized their services for WordPress, and offer exceptionally good customer support. Even for their entry-level plans.

By the way, you can install any popular web application on SiteGround, not just WordPress.

Problems with super cheap hosting

As with everything in life, you get what you pay for. Website hosting is no exception to this rule. If a provider offers you a deal that seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Consider the following:

Web hosting that costs less than a euro isn't profitable for any company. Just one call to their customer service, and the provider is already operating at a loss.

These companies sincerely hope that you'll eventually upgrade to their more expensive plans. To get you there faster, you'll notice popup messages appearing in your dashboard encouraging you to upgrade.

Many cheap hosting plans are quite sparse. They often lack SSL (like with Strato's cheapest plan), daily backups, free SSL certificates, and other extras that make your life easier. And you can forget about fast hosting with an overly cheap hosting plan.

The cheapest web hosting is almost always shared hosting. Poor quality cheap shared hosting providers cram your site onto a server with too many other websites. This can create security risks. Additionally, traffic spikes on other sites hosted on the same server can cause your site to slow down or even go offline completely.

Acquisitions in the hosting industry and their associated price increases

There has been a massive wave of consolidation in the hosting industry over the past few years.

Looking at the United States, we see Newfold Digital, an IT company that acquires hosting providers and outsources their IT infrastructure to India. This company owns well-known hosting brands such as Bluehost, Fatcow, and HostGator (and since 2021, the popular SEO plugin Yoast).

In Europe, you have team.blue (TransIP, Combell, Vimexx), Total Webhosting Solutions (Yourhosting, Argeweb, Neostrada), and Group.one (Hostnet, Antagonist, One.com).

Behind these types of groups are mountains of capital and countless vested interests. The business model of these groups is simple: acquire well-known hosting companies, halt all R&D investments, slash customer service, and jack up the prices.

So far, Group.one appears to be less guilty of these business practices, but for Newfold Digital, team.blue, and Group.one, this is their standard operating procedure.

What can we conclude from this? First of all, that you're (usually) much better off with an independent hosting company than one that falls under the umbrella of a conglomerate. These types of companies perfectly understand that their price increases will cause many customers to leave, but they know enough customers will remain who simply don't care. In the end, their calculations work out because they can rely on the apathy of a large group of uncritical customers.

Why spend dozens of euros per month on hosting when you could spend just a few?

While it makes sense for certain edge cases to spend a lot on web hosting (for example, if you have a resource-intensive e-commerce site with thousands of products or a popular blog with tens of thousands of visitors), this is completely unnecessary for the vast majority of websites.

Cheap hosting is perfect for:

• Beginners. You can master creating and running a website just as effectively on cheap hosting as on expensive hosting.
• Freelancers and Small Businesses. Most business websites for small entrepreneurs attract at most a few hundred or a few thousand visitors per month. Inexpensive hosting can easily handle this level of traffic without any issues.
• Hobby projects / non-commercial websites. Think of examples like a simple travel blog that's mainly read by family and friends.

Moreover, as you can see from the information above, the better affordable hosting providers aren't stingy when it comes to useful features and extras. For example, even with Cloud86's most budget-friendly plan, you'll get access to daily automatic backups, a testing environment, and phone support.

Summary: the best cheap web hosting of 2025

It's pointless to spend a lot of money on web hosting for your new site. However, finding good affordable web hosting is challenging because hosting services are difficult to compare with each other.

When it comes to finding a hosting provider, it's comparable to signing up for a phone or internet plan. It's also a complete mess.

I recommend not focusing solely on costs: the quality of service should always be the guiding factor.

If your site goes down or other problems occur, you expect your hosting provider to resolve the issue quickly and effectively. You also want to ensure that your web hosting plan includes all the features you need. Otherwise, you'll have to purchase them separately, which makes your hosting no longer affordable.

When looking at the costs, pay close attention to the terms and conditions. To get Hostinger's €1.49 per month rate, you'll need to pay for 4 years upfront. This might work fine if you're not planning to attract many visitors and can afford to pay the full amount in one go.

If you'd rather not pay so far in advance, then Cloud86 is a much better option. There you pay (excluding VAT) €1.95 with your first payment. And you can cancel the service whenever you want. While you won't get 24/7 customer support with them (which you do get with Hostinger), most people won't need this anyway.
